Guidelines
In this page, you are going to learn the basics on how to find the right Gastritis foods and you are going to see why some are good and some are bad. Just keep in mind these basic rules and you will be well on your way to get rid of Gastritis.
First, do not mix protein-rich foods with carbohydrate-rich foods. Protein-rich foods are foods such as meats, fish or dairy products. Carbohydrate-rich foods are foods such as pastas, rice, potatoes or cereals.
You can not mix these two types of foods because they use two different types of enzymes to be digested. The problem is that these two enzymes neutralize each other when they are released at the same time by the stomach. If this happens, the food sits longer in the stomach and the stomach then needs to release even more enzymes (alkaline and acidic.)
That is why you would usually feel the effects of Gastritis when you eat a pizza or a steak with fries. A much better choice would be to eat a green salad with your steak. This is so because you don’t mix the two types of foods and because green vegetables are great because they are digested very quickly by the stomach.
Also, remember to eat fruit by itself. Fruit goes by very quickly through the stomach. If you eat it after a meal, it will sit in the stomach for a long time, it will get fermented and it will release toxins into the stomach.
In addition, remember to drink few fluids when eating. You should keep this in mind because fluids dissolve the effectiveness of the enzymes and force the stomach to release even more enzymes.
Finally, remember to chew your food as thoroughly as possible. This is important because the smaller the chunks of foods the stomach needs to break down, the less amount of enzymes it will need to release and the less time the food will stay in your stomach.
By following these basic rules about what gastritis foods to eat, you should be well on your way to deal with Gastritis for good.
